Hilda Munro was born in Northampton, England, to a Dutch mother who was working in India. After completing an engineering degree, she travelled over to India and graduated with a professional engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology. In 1964, he immigrated to Canada to continue his work in engineering. After graduating with a mechanical engineering degree from the University of British Columbia, Dr. Munro came to the United States in 1969 and took a job in engineering with the S.S.T.T. Electric Company of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He held office as Manager of Operations and Engineering for the subsidiary for several years, where he also remained for a few years. In the late 1970’s, Dr. Munro was hired to oversee the operation of an electric substation here in Buffalo, New York as a Project Manager for the Buffalo-Buffalo International Power Board. Dr. Munro left Buffalo in 1980 and moved to Winnipeg in 1981, where he resumed his work at the S.S.T.T. Electric Company. One of the projects he carried over to Winnipeg was a multi-million-dollar development of a substation at the University of Winnipeg, the site of the University of Manitoba. The plant consists of a transmission line, substations, and the distribution system, which had also been completed. At the time of the development of the UW facility, Dr. Munro had been leading Project Manager for the Niagara Transmission Line, overseeing the design of both transmission and distribution lines for the power company. In 1991, he left the University of Manitoba to go to work in the field of mechanical engineering at the University of Chicago with the task of overseeing the electrical design for the SSA Hydro Systems of Canada. Here Dr. Munro led the design of two projects: the substation development at the university and the transmission system development. In 1993, he moved to the University of Regina and returned to engineering. Dr. Munro founded the electrical and structural engineering and engineering building classes at the University of Regina as an extension of his work on equipment construction and installation. He continues to lead Project managers and construction engineers for the power company and other energy supply companies. Dr. Munro is author of numerous publications on electrical and structural engineering. He has written over 1,000 articles, 200 review papers and has been cited in over 100 books. He has written dozens of technical reports and hundreds of technical reports on engineering of various kinds. In 1993, Dr. Munro made
